My working life has included three separate career paths and spanned 8 yrs social work, 30 yrs market research (brand development / management consultancy) and 9 yrs academic lecturing. Some of these overlapped (which is why the sums do not add up!)
I have worked at Director level within large organisations, medium sized companies, (building up a division) and set up a consultancy with two founder/partners which ran successfully for over ten years with a turnover of just under £2m pa.
My years in market research have given me wide ranging experience of working at board level across markets including food and drink, pharmaceuticals, health provision, fmcg, retail and travel as well as government and education. I have worked on many strategic plans for organisations as diverse as high street banks, national charities and household brands such as Baileys Irish Cream, Boots the Chemist, HSBC and Mencap.
Having returned to the UK after living and working in France for fifteen years, I am looking to work in a non executive capacity using my market research and management consultancy skills to contribute (primarily) by asking pertinent questions and making contributions from the left field.
