Currently I am an NED/advisor for a growing health business with previous NED and committee chair experience. I have a wealth of board level experience across a range of service and people-led businesses from start-ups to global corporates.

A qualified accountant and banker who has operated at CFO/MD/COO level as well as leading commercial business divisions and IT functions.

I have a successful track record in initiating/leading business performance improvement (change) programmes as well as developing and executing strategic growth plans including market and proposition development.

I have a strong background in corporate transactions including: acquisitions; fund raising; divestments; and investor exits. I have operated in the private equity environment for the last 15 years and have good city contacts. Previously I was Head of M&A for AIG in the UK.

My industry experience includes: business services (insurance/legal/outsourcing/consultancy/training/health); consumer services (financial services/retail/hospitality/leisure/estate agency); and currently a multi-site business support and legal services/outsourcing organisation.

I have operated across a range of business ownership structures from internationally listed PLCs through private equity-backed organisations to mutual and not-for-profit.

I am known for my ability to see and influence the bigger picture but also for a highly commercial and pragmatic approach to current issues and challenges and I am keen to share this potent blend with other organisations.

Appointed following recent MBO to advise on impact of planned growth, and to drive changes in finance, business infrastructure and to support their fundraising. • Advised on 3rd party investment options and made investor introductions.
Group Finance Director / NED CMGL Group (now part of Capita plc) April 2006 - June 2007 Private equity-backed, international outsourcing, consultancy and IT services business (insurance sector). c£40m t/o, c500fte Introduced by investors to strengthen senior team post MBO . • Initiated and led business review and recovery programme (£3m loss to c£2m p.a. profit in 6 months). • Closed an underperforming operating division. • Successfully re-negotiated increased banking facilities to support turnaround • Completed a successful exit process through a trade sale (3.3x money, 260%, IRR in 18 months). • NED of Lambourne broking firm
Chief Financial Officer Baydrive Group Limited March 2002 - July 2004 PE-backed, multi-site retail and leisure business. 200k+ customer base • Achieved PE backing for acquisition and rollout of high tech leisure and retail centres.
Group FD Green Flag Group June 1999 - April 2000 Multi-service business selling both B2C and B2B. Turnover = c£250m,ebitda = c£25m, FTE = c800. Recruited to join MBO team and to drive major change initiatives. • Led financial elements of business sale process for parent (Cendant Corporation) to achieve a sale price of £225M. Worked with private equity houses to develop multiple MBO offers .
